For example, if you submit a lead form through Meta or another advertising platform, the platform may provide the information you entered to UVBA. The platform’s own privacy policy also applies to its collection and handling of your information.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, tags, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand website traffic, measure campaign performance, and support advertising. These technologies may collect device and usage information over time and across websites or services.
Our website and marketing operations may use services such as Google Analytics 4, Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta Pixel, and similar tools. These providers may set or access cookies and process information under their own privacy policies. We may also use tag-management technology to deploy and manage these tools.
You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where available, the cookie-preference tools on our website. Blocking certain cookies may affect website functionality. You may also use provider-specific tools, such as Google’s analytics opt-out options and advertising preference controls offered by Google and Meta.
Browser-based ‘Do Not Track’ signals are not interpreted consistently across the industry. We do not currently respond to every Do Not Track signal. Where required by applicable law, we will process recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as requests to opt out of covered sale or sharing activities.
4. How We Use Information We may use information to:
Respond to inquiries, determine whether our services may be relevant to you, and provide requested information or assistance.
Deliver, administer, personalize, and improve our services and client experience.
Communicate with you about appointments, documents, claim-related matters, service updates, account or transaction information, and customer support.

Operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve our website, forms, systems, and business processes.
Measure website traffic, lead sources, advertising performance, and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.
Create aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.

5. How We Disclose Information We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
Service providers. We may disclose information to companies that help us host and operate our website, manage forms and customer relationships, provide analytics, deliver email or SMS communications, process payments, store records, support advertising, provide IT or security services, or otherwise operate our business. These providers are permitted to use information only for authorized purposes and subject to appropriate obligations.
Professional advisers. We may disclose information to attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, consultants, and other professional advisers when reasonably necessary.
Legal and safety purposes. We may disclose information when we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or is reasonably necessary to protect rights, property, safety, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements.
Business transactions. Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with an actual or proposed merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
At your direction or with your consent. We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or provide consent.
We do not sell or rent personal information for money. Some advertising or analytics activities may be considered ‘selling,’ ‘sharing,’ or ‘targeted advertising’ under certain state privacy laws even when no money changes hands. Where those laws apply, you may have the right to opt out as described below.
6. Email Communications
If you provide your email address or otherwise subscribe to marketing communications, we may send emails concerning UVBA services, educational information, news, or promotions. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us.
Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not prevent us from sending non-marketing communications that are necessary to respond to you, administer a requested service, provide transaction or account information, or comply with legal obligations.
7. SMS/Text Message Communications
SMS Consent and Opt-In Consent to receive text messages is separate from consent to receive email or telephone communications. You may opt in to SMS messaging from United Veteran Benefits Agency during intake discussions or by initiating an SMS conversation with us. When you provide a mobile telephone number and opt in, you authorize UVBA to send text messages to the number provided, which may include messages sent using automated technology. SMS consent is not a condition of purchasing or using UVBA’s services.
Message Types and Frequency If you consent to receive text messages from United Veteran Benefits Agency, messages may relate to your relationship with us and may include:
Responses to your initial message or other inquiries.
Appointment, intake, or document reminders.
Benefits information.
Notifications and service updates.
Claim-related communications.
Customer-support or assistance messages.
An example message is: ‘Hello, thank you for contacting United Veteran Benefits Agency. How can we help you? Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Message and data rates may apply. For assistance, reply HELP.’ Message frequency varies based on your interactions with UVBA and the services you request.
Charges, Opt-Out, and Help Message and data rates may apply to messages sent to you from us and to messages you send to us under your mobile carrier’s plan. Message frequency may vary. Neither mobile carriers nor United Veteran Benefits Agency are liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
To stop SMS messages, reply STOP at any time. Your opt-out request will generate one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, after which you will no longer receive SMS messages unless you opt in again. You may opt back in at any time by replying START or through another authorized UVBA opt-in method.
For assistance, reply HELP within the text-message thread or call 573-412-5100.
SMS Data Protection Mobile opt-in information, SMS consent records, and telephone numbers collected for SMS communication purposes will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose this information to service providers and subcontractors that support delivery of our text-message program, but only as necessary to provide those services on UVBA’s behalf. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be used for unrelated third-party marketing.
8. Our Technology and Service Providers
We use third-party systems to operate our Services. These may include Webflow for website hosting and forms; Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement for customer relationship management and communications; Google services for analytics, tag management, and advertising measurement; Meta and other advertising platforms for advertising and lead generation; and other vendors that provide communications, data storage, payment, security, or operational support.
The specific providers we use may change over time. Their processing of information is governed by contracts with UVBA and, where they collect information directly from you or set their own cookies, by their own privacy policies.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide services, maintain business and transaction records, honor communication preferences and opt-out requests, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the nature of our relationship, legal requirements, and operational needs.
When you opt out of SMS or email marketing, we may retain limited information on a suppression list so that we can honor your request. We may delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to legal or contractual retention requirements.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. California Privacy Notice If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to UVBA’s processing of your information, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain information about our collection and disclosure practices, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising cookies or pixels may constitute ‘sharing’ for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. California residents may submit an applicable request using the contact information below or a recognized opt-out preference signal where supported.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we collected such information without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information may contact us.
13. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services. UVBA does not control and is not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
