Is Your VA Claim Help Accredited? What Veterans Should Know

“Is UVBA VA accredited?”

It is a fair question, and you deserve a direct answer.

No. United Veteran Benefits Agency is not VA accredited. We are not affiliated with, recognized by, or endorsed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

It reflects an intentional choice about the kind of company we want to be and the kind of support we want to provide. That is not something we hide. It is not a status we are working toward.

UVBA was built as an education and consulting company; our role is to help Veterans understand the process, take a closer look at the information in front of them, prepare for what may come next, and remain informed while making their own decisions.

Our model is backed by more than 90 years of combined experience and measurable results. UVBA has supported 4,145 increases to Veterans’ disability ratings, earned 147 five-star Google reviews, and helped 1,268 Veterans reach a 100% disability rating. Past results do not guarantee the outcome of an individual claim, but they demonstrate why Veterans view our process as proven, reputable, and trusted.

Every Veteran’s situation is unique, which is why something as important as your disability rating should never be approached with a one-size-fits-all solution. What matters most is understanding your options and choosing the support that best fits your needs.

What Does VA Accreditation Mean?

VA accreditation gives an individual legal authority to represent claimants before the Department of Veterans Affairs. The VA recognizes three main types of accredited representatives:

  • Veterans Service Organization representatives
  • Attorneys
  • Claims agents

An accredited representative can perform duties within the formal VA claims process, which may include filing documents, communicating with the VA, requesting a decision review, and representing the Veteran.

Accredited VSO assistance is free. Accredited attorneys and claims agents may charge fees when VA rules allow. Every Veteran should understand the provider's role, services, responsibilities, and fees before signing an agreement.

Veterans can learn more about accredited help and search for a representative through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Why Did UVBA Choose a Non-Accredited Consulting Model?

We chose this model for one simple reason: we believe Veterans should stay in control of their own claim without having to figure it all out alone.

With UVBA, your claim stays yours. You stay informed, you have a voice in what happens next, and you make the final decisions with an experienced team helping you understand your options along the way.

You don’t have to navigate the process by yourself.

That’s where UVBA comes in.

We take the time to learn about your situation, help you understand the process, and explain the information you may want to consider before deciding what comes next.

And our support doesn’t stop there. We stay alongside you throughout the claim process to answer questions, share updates, and help you understand what is happening along the way.

You stay your own advocate. You stay in control. And you have an experienced team in your corner.

That is exactly why we built UVBA this way.

What Does UVBA Provide?

UVBA brings more than 90 years of combined experience with the VA disability claim process. Our U.S.-based team includes Veterans, military family members, and people with close ties to the Veteran community.

Our individually tailored consulting may include:

  • Explaining general VA disability concepts and terminology in plain language
  • Reviewing records and information the Veteran provides for consulting purposes
  • Helping the Veteran organize and better understand relevant information
  • Discussing questions the Veteran may want to consider
  • Providing general education about common stages of the VA disability process
  • Helping the Veteran understand what may happen during a C&P examination
  • Helping the Veteran make sense of VA correspondence or a decision letter
  • Continuing to provide education and support at appropriate stages of the process

Sometimes the most valuable part of consulting is not another form. It is having someone slow down, listen, and look at the full picture with you.

Our team considers the Veteran's history, the records they provide, the way symptoms affect daily life, prior VA decisions, and questions that may not have been explored. We do not create evidence, invent connections, or look for shortcuts. We help Veterans understand why truthful, complete, and clearly communicated information matters.

Veterans who are new to the process can also review our beginner's guide to the VA disability claim process. Those waiting on a decision may find it helpful to understand what happens after a VA disability claim is submitted.

What UVBA Does Not Do

Transparency requires us to be just as clear about our boundaries.

UVBA does not:

  • Act as the Veteran's representative before the VA
  • Communicate with the VA as the Veteran's legal representative
  • Provide legal or medical advice
  • Request or use a Veteran's VA.gov password
  • Guarantee approval, a particular rating, a timeline, or a financial outcome

These boundaries do not make our service less intentional. They define the service we chose to provide. With United Veteran, the Veteran stays in control.

Veterans deserve to know that free accredited help is available. They also deserve the freedom to compare lawful options and decide what kind of support works for them. That belief is central to why Veterans' right to choose support matters and to UVBA's participation in the broader conversation about ethical, transparent Veteran support.

Why Do Veterans Choose UVBA?

Veterans choose UVBA because they see value in the kind of support our consulting model provides.

Our role is clear from the beginning: UVBA is a non-accredited consulting company. That model allows us to focus on what we do best—giving Veterans the time, education, personal attention, and ongoing support they want as they move through the VA disability claim process.

Veterans aren’t choosing UVBA based on a title. They’re choosing our proven experience, support, and value our team provides.

Experienced, Veteran-First Support

Our team brings more  than 90 years of combined experience with the VA disability claim process. That experience helps us ask thoughtful questions, recognize when information deserves a closer look, and explain complicated concepts in a way that makes sense.

Our approach has supported 4,145 increases to Veterans’ disability ratings and helped 1,268 Veterans reach a 100% disability rating. We have also earned 147 five-star Google reviews from clients who trusted our team to guide, educate, and support them through the process. Past results do not guarantee the outcome of any individual claim, but they demonstrate the experience, credibility, and client satisfaction behind our work.

Behind every result is a Veteran with a story that deserves to be heard. That is why we take the time to listen, look at the full picture, and provide clear, personal support at every appropriate stage of the process.

Communication That Treats the Veteran Like a Person

You served our country. You sacrificed your body, your peace of mind, your time with family, or parts of the life you expected to have.

You deserve to be treated with respect.

You should never feel like a file number, a percentage, or another name on a list.

A VA letter is never “just paperwork” to the person waiting for an answer. It can affect your health, your family, and your future.

That is why we listen before we explain.

We ask questions.

We take time to understand your story and what you need.

Then we provide clear guidance about the process and the next steps you may want to consider. Our team communicates in plain language, safeguards personal information, and generally responds to messages within two business days.

You deserve honesty at every step. If we can help you understand something, we will. If a request falls outside our role, we will tell you that too.

UVBA is committed to treating Veterans with dignity and respect, communicating in plain language, and safeguarding personal information. We take pride in being honest about a Veteran’s options and will be transparent every step of the way.

A Full-Picture Approach

Veterans are more than a condition name, a percentage, or a file number.

We take time to consider the larger story the Veteran shares with us. That may include military history, medical information, statements from spouses or service-peers, changes over time, prior decisions, daily limitations, and unanswered questions.

Thinking beyond the obvious does not mean bypassing VA rules. It means refusing to reduce a Veteran's experience to a checklist.

Support Before, During and After Filing

Before filing, UVBA helps Veterans better understand the process, review and organize the information they provide, and present them with their options moving forward. While the claim is pending, our team may help explain what to expect during C&P examinations, how to decode VA correspondence, requests for information, and claim status changes. After the VA issues a decision, we can help the Veteran better understand what the decision means and what questions they may want to consider next.

The VA controls its decisions. UVBA cannot promise what the outcome will be. What we can do is help a Veteran feel more informed and less alone while navigating the process.

How Does UVBA's Fee Work?

UVBA does not charge a fee unless you receive an increase.

No consultation fee.

No fee when the claim is filed.

Our fee is earned only if the Veteran’s monthly VA disability compensation increases.

We believe our compensation should be tied to whether our time, work, and effort results in a measurable financial benefit for the Veteran.

The exact fee terms may depend on the agreement and the laws that apply where the Veteran lives. That is why the written agreement, not a general website example, is essential. The agreement explains how any fee is calculated, available payment options, state-specific terms, termination terms, and the responsibilities of both UVBA and the Veteran.

Generally, If the Veteran's monthly VA disability compensation increases, the standard fee is five times the monthly increase, up to a maximum fee of $15,000. For example, a $500 monthly increase would result in a standard fee of $2,500.

During the initial meeting, our team will walk through the agreement and explain what it means in plain language. Veterans should read it carefully and ask every question they have before signing.

Integrity is one of our core values. To us, integrity requires honesty and transparency about our services, our limits, and our fees before a Veteran decides whether UVBA is the right fit.

Questions to Ask Any VA Claim Help Provider

Whether you are considering UVBA, an accredited representative, or another source of assistance, do not stop at asking the question. Listen closely to the answer:

  • Are you VA accredited? Why or why not?
  • What to listen for: Listen for a direct yes or no, a clear explanation of what the provider can and cannot do, and information about accredited options. Accreditation can be verified through the VA.
  • What decisions and responsibilities will remain mine?
  • What to listen for: A trustworthy provider should explain your role clearly. You should understand who reviews, signs, and submits information and who makes the final decisions.
  • Will you ever request access to my VA.gov account or password?
  • What to listen for: Your login information should remain private. Be cautious if anyone asks you to share a password or sign-in code.
  • Is there an upfront fee?
  • What to listen for: Ask for a written explanation of when a fee is earned, how it is calculated, whether a maximum applies, and whether state-specific terms affect the agreement.
  • What support is available before, during, and after filing?
  • What to listen for: Listen for specific services, realistic communication expectations, and clear limits. General promises are not enough.
  • Do you provide legal or medical advice?
  • What to listen for: The answer should match the provider’s qualifications and role. A consulting company should not present itself as a law firm, medical provider, or accredited representative.
  • Are free alternatives available?
  • What to listen for: A transparent paid provider should tell you that free accredited VSO help is available and give you room to compare your options.
  • What happens if I end the agreement?
  • What to listen for: Ask where to find the termination terms, what responsibilities remain, and whether any fee could still be due.
  • Do you guarantee an outcome?
  • What to listen for: No provider controls the VA’s decision. A promise of approval, a specific rating, a timeline, or a financial result is a warning sign.

A trustworthy provider should answer direct questions without avoiding them or pressuring you to decide.

UVBA Is Not Accredited for a Reason

We intentionally chose to operate as a consulting company because we believe there is value in helping Veterans understand the process, examine the full picture, prepare for what may come next, and remain in control of their own claim.

We are transparent about what we do. We are equally transparent about what we cannot do.

If you want formal representation, free accredited VSO help and other accredited options are available. You can use the Department of Veterans Affairs’ accredited representative search tool to find and compare representatives in your area.

If you want an experienced team focused on education, preparation, communication, and personalized support, UVBA offers a different choice. Our U.S.-based, military-connected team brings more than 90 years of combined experience. We have supported 4,145 increases to Veterans’ disability ratings, earned 147 five-star Google reviews, and helped 1,268 Veterans reach a 100% disability rating. Past results do not guarantee the outcome of any individual claim, but they reflect the proven, reputable process Veterans have trusted.

We take time to hear your story, understand your situation, and explain the information you may want to consider. We help you understand the process, examine the full picture, organize the information you provide, and prepare for what may come next.

Our commitment is simple: we will listen first, explain clearly, communicate honestly, and respect your right to remain in control of your claim.

If that approach sounds like the kind of support you want, talk with the UVBA team. We will take time to hear your unique story, understand your situation and needs, and then explain our consulting process, responsibilities, limitations, and fee agreement.

What sets us apart is simple: we listen first and explain second.

Your service was yours. Your story is yours. Your claim is yours. The choice of who stands beside you should be yours, too.
